Historical review
Quinta do Piloto is at the family Cardoso at four generations. Its wines are the result of lots chosen from 300 hectares of vineyards in the best terroirs of the region. Vinified by ancestral methods to be exponents of the caste they represent. Quinta do Piloto is situated in the Serra do Louro in Palmela and covers 300 hectares of vineyards.
For four generations the Cardoso family preserves the original cellars and estates, including 130 acres of old vines.
Founded by Humberto Cardoso in the early twentieth century, it became the largest producers of Portugal, with about 500 hectares of vineyards.
The Quinta do Piloto wines represent only the exceptional lots of extended family vineyards. The first wine with the Pilot Farm brand was the Pilot Collection Purple, launched in 2013 and awarded by the Decanter World Wine Awards and the International Wine Challenge that year.
How to arrive from the Mother House Wine Route
To go from Wine Route House to the wine cellar Quinta do Piloto you must turn left, go down and turn left again towards Azeitão. Pass by the the first roundabout, turn left at second and get up to Serra do Louro. Go straight ahead until find the entry of Quinta do Pilot.
